(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery")An extremely difficult-to-find, early Bordjalou Kazak introduces an entirely new aesthetic to antique Oriental rugs, as seen in this magnificent piece emulates with its scaled diamonds-within-diamonds pattern seemingly continuing beyond the borders. The scaling device used in this area-size tribal art rug is directly connected to the dragon tradition honored throughout the Mideast and Asia symbolizing the benevolent force of the universe. Such powerful imagery is underlined by a deeply resonate palette of crimson, marigold, spruce green, and cobalt blue, with touches of Tyrian purple. The field pattern includes an inner verdant frame that amplifies the optics as a whole and, at the edge, an unusually narrow “wave” border. Various small whimsical motifs are sprinkled throughout, skillfully softening and adjusting the potency of this 160-year-old piece. Learn About This Rug Type
