(High-Collectible) ("New Arrivals Gallery") 19th century Caucasian Sewan Kazak rugs are known for their highly stylized shield medallions, along with a well-defined color palette of saturated reds, sea green, burnished gold, and cobalt blue. This exceptionally attractive totemic tour-de-force has a breathtaking, field-filling medallion sprouting four wonderfully curvaceous ‘Tree of Life’ forms ascending and descending the spacious carnelian background. At its center is an original layered design evoking the Dragon symbol, ’Star of Wisdom’, and ‘Diamond of Strength’, demonstrating the great dexterity its weavers had in presenting age-old icons. Numerous jewels and iconic tribal ornaments sprinkled interstitially in the field and, atypically in the main border, add a welcome spontaneity. Learn About This Rug Type
