(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery")In this exuberant representative of the beloved Caucasian Perpedil style, an intricately woven menagerie of abstracted bird forms, sunburst blossoms and overscale ram’s horn motifs predominate, while minute blossoms, starflowers, diamonds and "S" motifs (the Zoroastrian symbol of the energy of the sun) are whimsically scattered, adding a sense of harmonious movement to this enrapturing cosmologic assemblage. Its main border is entirely unique, offering rows of motifs resembling fire altars alternating with highly stylized curling ‘ram’s horn ’vinery (the symbol of great virility). This 120-year-old tribal rug is in exemplary, heavy-pile condition and thick, astonishingly silky wool. Learn About This Rug Type
