(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") With an astonishing, virtually Baroque level of painstaking detail, this 180 year old, incredibly finely woven Mohtasham Kashan rug is a showpiece of lyrical pattern language and warm 19th-century color. A starburst compound medallion is surrounded by dense yet crystal clear and strikingly etched botanical forms. This consummately crafted antique city rug has wonderfully diverse, time-softened shades of deep indigo, cerulean, mahogany, apricot and ivory. Punctuations of tropical teal and soft jades in the foliage seem almost mathematically placed, drawing together the entire composition and giving it even greater visual interest. Its subtle symmetry also heightens the rug’s entrancing, majestic character. Learn About This Rug Type
